Andrew & Amy

The Story

Andrew and Amy's first encounter actually happened at work. Andrew had been working at The Home Depot for awhile. But in the meantime Amy had graduated college and needed to find a job before going to graduate school. Shortly after she started working for Home Depot also. The couple hit it off right from the start .As the time went on they made a long distance relationship work for two years, while Amy was in Connecticut and Andrew was in Illinois. After finding jobs the couple decided to reside in Oklahoma.

The Proposal

It was Christmas Day, every year Andrew and Amy have their Christmas celebrations with both of their families. Amy had noticed that there was one last gift to open. It was a very large box that was full of tissue paper and then a much smaller box inside. Inside that tiny box was a beautiful ring.

The Wedding

When looking for a wedding venue, it was going to be slightly more difficult for a couple living in Oklahoma. Amy's dad actually found the venue. The couple wanted to get married somewhere closer to Illinois, since that was home. They had to rely on their parents to go and look at venues. While looking online they had then decided on Horticultural Hall in Lake Geneva. It was the perfect place for them.
Amy found her wedding dress actually in her hometown in Edmond, Oklahoma at Prescott Bridal. She had done some searching throughout the city but didn't find anything she really liked. She wanted something vintage but still modern. The choosen dress fit her criteria perfectly. Her favorite part was that it wasn't just a traditional white.

The ceremony and reception had taken place all at Horticultural Hall, the couple loved that everything was at one location. The first look happened on the grounds of Horticultural Hall in the garden. When Andrew turned around to look at Amy, Amy did not expect the reaction that she had gotten. "It was the sweetest reaction" Amy said. She was so surprised at how taken back he was

It took the couple a long time to decide on a caterer, especially since they were out of state. They had to rely on there parents to choose the ideal one. They ended up choosing Bubb's because they wanted something not only delicious but laid back and not stuffy. Food was a really big part of their wedding and wanted it to stand out to their guests. "Bubb's was a great choice, We didn't even get to do a taste test (my parents did) and we were so happy with our choice and the experience".

When it came to wedding decorations they wanted to do all DIY decorations. Amy loves flowers, so she wanted to do all her own arrangements. She was very satisfied by all the compliments she received and all the money she saved. It looked beautiful.

Amy said her favorite part of the wedding was seeing all of her hard work come to life. They also said that it was so wonderful seeing the smiles on their guests faces and how they were all having an amazing time.

Andrew and Amy will be going on a honeymoon in December to Maui, Hawaii and are really looking forward to it!
