Julia & Chris
The Story
Julia and Chris met in a pretty unique way, through Julia's best friend. They had all met up with a group of friends on water street. Julia and Chris decided to share a cab home, when Chris went in for the first kiss, the can got T-boned! Chris' head broke my nose, chipped my two front teeth, and gave me two black eyes. So as Julia said "he kind of had to ask me on a second date!" They had a nice and simple engagement, sitting on a couch at Julia's parents house on a visit back to Wisconsin.
The Wedding
When it came to picking the wedding venue, they wanted to incorporate industrial style. They had always loved that style, even incorporating it into their home.
The Seeboth was a new venue and Julia and Chris had loved the pictures they had seen on it online. They had actually committed to having their wedding without even seeing it, since they lived in San Antonio. When the couple had finally seen in on a visit home, they loved it more than they could have even imagined. Sometimes an industrial space can feel a little cold, but The Seeboth felt intimate and romantic.
When Julia was deciding on a wedding dress, she did a lot of shopping online. The dress she choose was a Reed gown from BHLDN. She had purchased it online without ever even seeing it, and it was absolutely perfect. When Julia saw the beaded cap sleeves, she knew she had to have it.
Julia and Chris' first look happened on the loading dock outside of the venue. During the first look they read the letters that they wrote to each other. While Julia was reading her letter, she kept thinking how she needed to keep it together. But when she saw Chris had not, Julia lost it for a moment. The couple thought it was really nice to have a moment together before all the festivities started.
The menu was really important to Julia and Chris, they wanted something that brought their new life in Texas to their wedding in Wisconsin, and BBQ was perfect for that. Last year Chris bought a smoker, and he has gotten into that as a hobby, so the menu was perfect for them. Anyone who knew Julia knew she loved mashed potatoes, so they had to be amazing!
For wedding decorations, The Seeboth was so beautiful on its own. So Julia and Chris didn't want anything that would take away from that. They went with a very neutral color scheme. Also they wanted a lot of eucalyptus and white and cream flowers. Including incorporated wood accents without.
For Julia and Chris, it was hard for them to pick just one favorite part of their special day. The whole week was exactly what they wanted. They lived across the country from their favorite people, and just wanted to have an amazing party for everyone. Their favorite part was getting to reunite with all of their friends and family AND getting married! What's better than that!
In about a year, Julia and Chris will be taking a honeymoon to Thailand or Greece!
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Bertrand!
